Mike’s Show “Evil” Renewed for Season 4

It’s official, Mike’s show EVIL has been renewed for season four. Mike plays the part of priest-to-be David Acosta. Not sure what this might mean for his possible return to LUKE CAGE given Paramount Plus and Disney+ are competing streaming services, but we can dream. Given what we’ve seen with he and Krysten Ritter recently hanging out together one can assume the obvious. Or at least a possibility of the obvious.

Evil’s future beyond season 3 confirmed by Paramount+

Deeper into the supernatural world we go?

Evil season 4 has been given the go-ahead by Paramount+.

This supernatural chiller premiered its third season just last month, bringing back Katja Herbers’ forensic psychologist Dr Kristen Bouchard and Mike Colter’s experimental priest-in-waiting David Acosta.

The streaming service’s president of original scripted series Nicole Clemens shared in a statement (via TVLine): “We couldn’t be more excited to be terrified by what Robert and Michelle [King] create for season four with our outstanding cast bringing it to life.”

Evil is in stellar company when it comes to recommissioned TV this year. Apple TV+ wonder Severance landed a second season, Netflix’s Heartstopper has a second and third in the making, and Prime Video’s diabolical comic book saga The Boys will be back for a fourth.

When the show was first announced, Colter himself commented on its parallels with modern America.

“The country is full of people who have very strong opinions about religion and politics,” he said. “What we’re trying to do is to open a discussion between everyone so that, regardless of how you feel, having a strong opinion doesn’t mean you can’t listen. If you can listen, then you might be able to learn something.”

Co-creator Michelle King went on to acknowledge the pertinence of Evil’s central theme: two people can fundamentally disagree with each other but still respect and listen.

“What we liked about the show is the ability to show two people with very different ideas about the spiritual. Someone’s who’s truly sceptical and someone who is a true believer,” she said.

“We like the idea of them being able to express their feelings and listen to each other respectfully and yet have a dialogue.”

Evil streams in the US on Paramount+.
